The Book Apothecary

The Book Apothecary is a traveling museum of artist books. The collection is made up of a series of commissioned book works presented inside modified suitcases and trunks that merge new and old technologies in book making which include printmaking, sculpture and digital media. The project was began by Yvette Hawkins in 2011 and now operates as a collective of four artist including Dawn Felicia Knox. Dawn is the curator and a lead artist of the project creating site specific installation that respond to the archive and the taxonomies found within. This gallery features installations she has created in the Baltic Centre for contemporary art, Leicester School of Museum Studies and the Crown Street Gallery.
